About Asthma

Asthma is a chronic condition that affects approximately 300 million people worldwide, characterized by ongoing inflammation in the lungs,  narrowing of the airways, and changes in the airway walls.

Type 2-high (eosinophilic) disease is driven by allergic and innate immune pathways and has multiple approved biologic options targeting IL-5, IL-4Rα, IgE, and TSLP. Type 2-low (often neutrophilic) disease responds poorly to existing biologics.

Many asthma patients require multiple medications daily for extended periods, and in some cases, for life. Additionally, 10% of individuals with severe refractory asthma do not respond to currently available treatments.
